The Kamloops Story

Lemonade Day is Back in Kamloops!

Lemonade Day is a free, fun, hands-on program that teaches youth how to start, own, and operate their very own business—a lemonade stand. But it's about so much more than lemonade. It's about building confidence, creativity, and real-world skills that last a lifetime.

After an incredible inaugural year, we're so excited to bring Lemonade Day back to Kamloops in August 2026!

What made our first year so special wasn't just the number of participants—it was the creativity and pride we saw in every young entrepreneur. From branding and pricing to customer service and storytelling, these kids showed up in truly inspiring ways.

In our first year, 80 youth registered, and 27 lemonade stands were mapped across the city, each representing a young person stepping into entrepreneurship. Our highest earner brought in $824.10!

We know that by age nine, many children have already formed their understanding of money—how to earn it, spend it, and save it—yet most financial literacy programs are introduced later. Lemonade Day helps bridge that gap in a way that's engaging, practical, and fun.

But beyond the numbers, it's the stories that matter most:

"Lemonade Day was a lot of fun! It felt good to see so many people from our community come out and support us."

"This was my first Lemonade Day, and I learned that having a business is exciting. Next time, I want to add snacks and my handmade crafts to go with my lemonade."

These experiences build more than business skills—they build confidence, independence, and a sense of possibility.

Each registered participant receives access to the Lemonade Day curriculum, which teaches them how to set goals, create a budget, serve customers, repay investors, and give back to their community. At the end of the day, they keep what they earn and are encouraged to spend some, save some, and share some.

Lemonade Day is about inspiring young people to see what they're capable of—and having a lot of fun along the way.
