Every year, in preparation for Lemonade Day, some of Houston's registered youth entrepreneurs are selected to compete in two of our favorite events: the Best Tasting Contest + Pitch Competition

This year, both contests will be held on Saturday, April 25th at the Children's Museum of Houston.

In the Best Tasting Contest, selected contestants prepare their own special lemonade, which is then tasted and judged by a panel. 

In the Pitch Competition, young entrepreneurs pitch their lemonade stand business to a panel of judges, putting their planning, creativity, and entrepreneurial skills on full display.

Past winners have gone on to do extraordinary things. Mikaila Ulmer participated in Lemonade Day when she was just 6 years old, won the Best Tasting Contest in Austin, TX, and went on to pitch her business on Shark Tank. You never know where it might lead you!

Mark your calendars! Lemonade Day is Saturday, May 9th, 2026.

On this day, youth put everything they learned from the Lemonade Day entrepreneurship program into action by opening their very own lemonade stands at locations across Houston.

Kids are encouraged to find their own spot, whether that's a neighborhood park, church, or a local business willing to host them (with permission, of course).

They can also choose from our list of Sweet Spot Partner locations, safe, high traffic spots offered by businesses and organizations throughout the city. To participate, youth must complete the Lemonade Day curriculum and, if they're returning participants, submit their business results from the previous year.

Youth are responsible for bringing their own stand, lemonade, and everything else they need to open for business.
