Meet Andre!

Andre, an ambitious young entrepreneur, is excited to reflect on his second year of running a lemonade stand as part of the Lemonade Day initiative. With aspirations to own a business in the future, Andre sees this experience as an invaluable opportunity to learn the ins and outs of entrepreneurship.

This year, Andre set up his stand at the Berl Hoffman Complex, showcasing a unique theme that combined lemonade, pickles, and popcorn. Unfortunately, his initial location didn’t attract many customers, prompting a strategic decision to relocate his stand next year. This move is expected to pay off, allowing him to connect with more people and ultimately boost his sales.

This year, Andre replaced cookies and brownies from last year with pickles and popcorn. Through this change, he discovered that popcorn was a better seller, while pickles posed their own challenges due to their messiness.

Looking ahead to next year, Andre plans to simplify his offerings by focusing solely on lemonade and popcorn. He also intends to carefully select a location to maximize his reach and sales.

Despite the challenges, Andre was pleased to turn a profit and has chosen to donate a portion of his earnings to CASA of the South Plains, demonstrating his commitment to giving back to the community. With each year, Andre is not only honing his business skills but also learning valuable lessons about resilience and philanthropy.
